Ministry of Hemp’s main goal is to educate and raise awareness about hemp to everyday people. We are committed to delivering authoritative and unbiased news and reviews related to the hemp industry and its latest trends and products. As a leading advocate for the hemp industry, we are committed to transparency.

We refrain from excessive advertising, especially display or popup ads, and strive to keep our content free to our visitors. Brands may pay us a fee and provide us with free products in return for our honest opinion, but we’ll always disclose this fact. Any incentives we receive from the brands we review or promote help us deliver better content to our readers and compensate our team for their work.

  • Miji Media LLC owns and is doing business as (dba) Ministry of Hemp
  • Ministry of Hemp may work with hemp companies and other retailers in the following ways:
    1. We may have cost-per-click, affiliate fee, and/or sponsorship arrangements with various hemp brands. In no uncertain terms, this compensation has no influence on the product reviews and guides we publish.
    2. We may also receive products free of charge from the hemp brands for the purpose of conducting reviews to include on our site. These contributions in no way influence the content or creative we publish and certainly do not guarantee a positive review of that product.
    3. We may create and sell advertising units, including but not limited to onsite display and email marketing, to hemp brands. Any compensation associated with advertising sales has no influence on our editorial team’s review of any products included on our website.
    4. We may run sponsored social media content. If we’re paid to post on social media, we’ll always clearly mark this content with the hashtag #promo or #promotion. We’ll also label any sponsored content we send through the Ministry of Hemp newsletter.
    5. We’re sometimes paid a fee by hemp and CBD brands in return for publishing guest posts and other sponsored content written by their team. We’ll always label these sponsored posts at the bottom of the page, in the author’s bio section.
    6. Ministry of Hemp was launched in 2014 with the financial support of Libertas Ventures LLC, which holds investments in other related entities such as Kapu Maku LLC (dba Populum), a hemp CBD brand. Ministry of Hemp is run autonomously with an independent editor. Our current Editor-in-Chief is Kit O’Connell. Libertas Ventures LLC does not attempt to influence any of the editorial independence of Ministry of Hemp.

Whenever you see a review and/or sponsorship from a company with whom Ministry of Hemp has any financial affiliation, you will find the following statement on the page, including a link to this complete disclosure:

  • “{BRAND} paid us a fee and offered us free products in return for our honest opinion. If you purchase a product from one of these links, we’ll receive a percentage of sales. Read our full disclosure statement.”

There are several important steps we have taken to ensure honest and independent product reviews:

  1. In order to ensure we provide readers with a diverse and nuanced understanding of hemp, we work with both experienced independent journalists and writers with direct ties to the industry. We also frequently seek out the opinions of regular consumers who don’t have any ties to the hemp industry.
  2. We’ll always clearly disclose any ties to the CBD and hemp industry or potential conflicts of interest, including when our writers hold equity in companies mentioned in an article. When it comes to product reviews, we’ll never work with reviewers that have ties to a competing brand.
  3. We provide our product reviewers with objective review standards and encourage them to share their honest opinion on a product. We only partner with top-quality hemp and CBD brands, and promise to never knowingly promote a substandard product, no matter how much money we’re offered.
